Even people with 2 jobs (and some freelance work) get a day off!  Happy Memorial Day to you all.

Last night, when I got home from pouring beer and looked around at my messy apartment, I decided I would use my day off wisely.  While everyone else was out doing Memorial Day things, I would be little Ms. Productive.  I decided to clean out my fridge, put away the laundry, do some dusting, catch up on emails, pay bills, you name it.  If it could be considered a ‘task’, I would get it DONE.  I love it when I am highly motivated.

Soooo.  What did I do today?  Well, I actually woke up at 8:30, and I was going to go with the boys downstairs to Home Depot.  They were going to rent a carpet cleaner and I was going to look at some paint colors.  I am considering painting my bedroom.  Anyway, I decided to decline the invitation and decided to sleep a little bit more.  I woke up at 11, got out of bed at close to noon.  Uh-oh.  Not the most efficient start of the day.  Then I watched Passions.  You see where i’m headed?  After Passions, I made some lunch and browsed through my ‘now playing’ list on my Tivo and decided that once I finished eating, I would get going.  I would start with the kitchen and work my way through the apt.  Just then, Gay White Oprah called.  He’s one of my 2 best boys.   The boys who live downstairs.  He was going to be super-busy today, which freed me up for all of my very important housework.  NOW, he was calling to say that his day cleared up and he was around for the next few hours.  So I got dressed (yes I was still in pj’s at 1:30) and went downstairs.  We walked to the neighborhood liquor store to get me a coke and him a peanut butter cup and then we came back to the house to watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  He is on a mission to catch me up on all 3 movies before we go see the new one in the theater.  Somehow, even with 2 older brothers in the house, I never saw the Indiana Jones Trilogy, or at least I have no great memory of it.  So far I’ve watched the first two and every once in a while there is a moment where I say “oh, I remember this scene”, but that’s about it.  They are fun to watch, especially with GWO because he is even more scared of snakes than Indy himself.  There will be a lot of shrieking when we see the new movie, that is for SURE.

After the movie, we just sat around.  Watched some tv.  Now i’m back up in my apt and have no intention to clean.  It’s a perfectly good day off.  Why spoil it?

Well, maybe I should clean a little.  I have plans tomorrow and then work tomorrow night. Eh. We’ll see. First I gotta figure out what to come up with for dinner!

I know. My life is so exciting.  What do you do when you procrastinate?
